Mahesh Rangarajan

Mahesh Rangarajan is a historian with a special interest in the environmental history of India. He has a BA in history (with honors) from Hindu College, University of Delhi, an MA in modern history, and a PhD from Oxford University. He was a Rhodes Scholar from 1986 to 1989. He is currently a professor at Ashoka University. He has previously taught at the University of Delhi and Krea University. Rangarajan was the director of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library from 2011 to 2015. His books include Fencing the Forest (1996), India’s Wildlife History (2001), and Nature and Nation (2015).
