Philippe Peycam

Philippe Peycam is the director of the International Institute of Asian Studies (IIAS) in Leiden, Netherlands. Peycam is a trained historian of Southeast Asia (Vietnam). For 10 years, he worked to establish a dual academic and capacity building institution in postwar Cambodia, the Center for Khmer Studies (CKS). He recently completed an essay based on his Cambodian experience titled “Cultural Renewal in Cambodia: Academic Activism in the Neoliberal Era.”
