The Africa contribution to the World Humanities Report comprises two pieces: a report commissioned by the African Academy of Sciences titled The State of Research Leadership Capacity Development in the Humanities, Social Sciences and Arts in Africa, which was published in September 2021, as part of the effort to create an African Humanities Association, whose official launch took place in November 2023; and a bibliographical essay on African scholarship by Ari Sitas, meant to be read alongside the above report on the African humanities.
