Ilya V. Gerasimov

Ilya V. Gerasimov is a cofounder and executive editor of Ab Imperio Quarterly: Studies of New Imperial History and Nationalism in the Post-Soviet Space. He holds degrees from three graduate schools in three countries, including a PhD from Rutgers University (USA) and candidate of sciences in history (Kazan State University, Russia). Gerasimov specializes in the social history of the Russian Empire/USSR, progressivism as the transatlantic phenomenon, postcolonial theory, and new imperial history. He has authored two books in Russian and two in English, and a number of articles and book chapters published in the US, Russia, Germany, Japan, Italy, and Ukraine.
