Hosam Aboul-Ela

Hosam Aboul-Ela is a professor of English and AAEF/Burhan and Misako Ajouz Professor of Arab Studies at the University of Houston. He is the author of Other South: Faulkner, Coloniality, and the Mariátegui Tradition (2007) and Domestications: American Empire, Literary Culture, and the Postcolonial Lens (2018). His translation of Sonallah Ibrahim’s novel Warda was published by Yale University Press in 2021. For Seagull Books, he serves as series editor for the Arabic List and coedits with Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak the Elsewhere Texts series.
